Born and raised in Bulawayo, Trevor is SameSame’s Zimbabwe Lead. He is a passionate human rights activist who uses his lived experiences to consciously promote the inclusion of diverse and under-represented groups, with a particular focus on the LGBTQI+ community. Trevor is also passionate about tech and believes in using innovation and modern approaches to human rights activism that harnesses the power of digital technology to drive social change.

Prior to joining SameSame, Trevor worked a programs manager at Trans Research Education Advocacy and Training (TREAT) an organization that advocates for the rights of Trans and gender-diverse persons in Zimbabwe. He also served as the Zimbabwe lead for the Out and Proud in Southern Africa Regional project implemented in three countries Malawi, Eswatini and Zimbabwe. Trevor also served a stint as the steering committee co-chair of the We Belong Africa project — a UNDP regional project that seeks to support countries in the Sub-Saharan Africa region to become increasingly accountable to, and inclusive of, their entire populations, including sexual and gender minorities.

During his spare time, Trevor’s curiosity and relentless enthusiasm for new challenges leads him to adopt new hobbies at a furious page — including learning how to DJ , playing piano, picking up tennis and learning Karate. In his own words, his “never ending list of hobbies make me the ultimate ‘jack of all trades’ and, hopefully, master of at least one… one day.”
